Music

The Music program at Carrington allows students to learn skills and techniques for playing a variety of instruments. Students are encouraged to explore, respond, and improvise with music throughout each session.

Students experience different types of instruments including drums, xylophones, glockenspiels, keyboards, and percussion instruments.

Opportunities are presented to listen to and observe performances whilst also listening to and observing performances from a range of artists.

Carrington PS provides students with an extra-curricular program in Choir, which is conducted every Tuesday afternoon for both our Junior and Senior school. The school rehearses weekly and performs in both out of school settings including kindergartens, transition programs, school assemblies and aged residence, whilst also recording digital media occasionally. These performances have been hampered by the COVID-19 pandemic in the past two years, however, the choir is still a well sought after extra-curricular activity. Choir is an optional program for students to participate in and provides opportunities for students to develop a love of singing and performing.
