INTENSIVE SWIMMING PROGRAM

Carrington Primary School conducts an intensive swimming program in the first two weeks of December each year. Students from all Year levels are involved.

This time of the year has been especially targeted to be just prior to the summer swimming season when the need to be able to swim will be at its greatest.

The program runs for 10 days and is conducted at the Oasis Pool in Dandenong.

A special water safety Education program is run for the year 5 /6 students. Skills covered in this program include rescue techniques, identifying swimmers in difficulty, stroke development, use of personal floatation devices, survival skills and entries.
